What alloy steel grades does Aero-Vac stock?

Aero-Vac maintains extensive inventory across the full range of aerospace and defense alloy steels, including 4130 (Chrome-Molybdenum), 4140, 4340 (Nickel-Chrome-Molybdenum), 4330M (Modified Vanadium), 300M (ultra-high-strength), 9310/3310 (carburizing grades), M50 and 52100 bearing steels, 18Ni Maraging steels, HY-TUF, D6AC, AerMet/HP-9-4-30, nitriding steels (Nitralloy), H11/H13, 6150 chrome-vanadium, and a comprehensive range of ASTM commercial grades. Do your alloy steels come with mill test reports and certifications?

Yes. All Aero-Vac materials are fully traceable to mill test reports (MTRs) and comply with the relevant AMS, MIL-Spec, BMS, DMS, and ASTM standards listed. We are AS9100D/ISO 9001 certified with a 99.6% quality rating. Certificates of conformance, chemical and mechanical test reports, and special process records are provided with every shipment upon request. Electronic delivery of paperwork is available for fast documentation turnaround.

Can you supply hard-to-find or obsolete alloy steel specifications?

Absolutely. As a manufacturing distributor—not a broker—we specialize in sourcing difficult and obsolete specifications. Our extensive inventory management system and global supplier relationships allow us to fill orders for superseded MIL-Spec materials (e.g., MIL-S-5000, MIL-S-6758) alongside current AMS equivalents. If you have a hard-to-meet specification, our team will work to find the right solution, including cross-referencing to current active specs when applicable.

What are your typical lead times for alloy steel orders?

In-stock materials are typically available for same-day or next-day shipping. For custom-cut or processed orders, our standard lead time is 2–4 weeks—significantly faster than the industry standard of 8–12 weeks. For specialty forgings or custom sizes requiring mill production, lead times range from 4–8 weeks depending on the specification and quantity. We prioritize urgent aerospace and defense requirements and will always provide honest delivery estimates upfront.

Do you offer saw cutting, machining, and other value-added services?

Yes. Aero-Vac operates a complete in-house processing facility at our Port of Kalama location. Our saw cutting department features 17 band saws capable of cuts up to 36 inches wide and 32 inches thick. Additional in-house services include precision grinding, trepanning, milling, turning, heat treatment, and comprehensive mechanical and non-destructive testing. Having all capabilities under one roof enables faster turnaround and tighter quality control.
